Another day, another run

Howdy - went for a run today. 3.26 miles in 37:49. Felt great. Took extra time to stretch before and after, and also took the time to cool down with a little walk at the end. That's a big deal for me - I always take my shortcuts in the stretching and cooling down departments but I am sure that's how I hurt myself!

Darren and I went to the gym again last night - 30 minutes with the weights on arms, abs, and back and 32 minutes on the treadmill running/walking intervals.

We've been eating VERY healthy! Poor Darren (and probably his gut) are in shock. We have both started a vitamin regamin as well. I'm pleased at how well he is adapting! He didn't even kick up a fuss (or much of a fuss) over losing his beloved bagels. LOL - now we're eating whole grain, whole wheat english muffins (no high fructose corn syrup!) on the days we would normally have had a bagle.

I signed up for and am participating in the Self.com fitness challenge - so far it's a lot of fun. They have great tools that are easy to use. Plus you can win PRIZES! Wish me luck! I'd have invited you both to sign up too but I didn't want to give your email to the spam generating machine!

After my super healthy lunch I'm headed to Cottage Grove to get my hair cut & colored and visit my mom and my precious baby boy, Bill! Hope you're both having happy, healthy days!

  1. Great Job on the working out! I will have to check out that web site. Britt has been doing the Master Cleanse for 10 days now (must to my dismay) I have been doing only fruit and veggies for the past week. I am clean as a whistle! Going to try to go easy on the breads and sugars, they seem to be the culprit that slows things down for me. (-:

  2. Wow - only fruit & veggies - that's hard core. So does dairy do the same thing - slow things down? Bread and sugar don't do that to me, but they do flip a switch that makes me want MORE. I feel great once it's out of my system.

I have quit the diet pop cold turkey (two weeks!) and now I just pretty much drink water and milk with my meals, but it seems like I LOVE the milk! (non fat)I really have to struggle to keep the milk portions down. If I need a boost during the day I'll have unsweetened ice tea. And if I'm cold during the day I'll have hot green tea. I don't notice any difference for having given up the pop though but It's got to be better for me.

Which website are you referring to - Self Challenge or MotionTraxx? MotionTraxx just issued another podcast - it's 160 BPM - pretty fast for me. They had one in the archive that was 150 BPM and that one might be more useful... those are the only three I have right now. Check it out & tell me what you think.
